Book Ordering Information: English 10
Dear WFS parents,
I hope you and your family are enjoying the summer, especially the time to do some relaxed leisure
reading! Below, please find text lists for the WFS Upper School English classes for the 2014-15 school year.
We have posted these selections on the MBS textbook website, but also wanted to distribute the
information to parents directly in the event that you wish to purchase your child's English texts
elsewhere. We have a few requests and suggestions as you consider your child's English text orders:

1. Please ensure that your child has the correct edition and clean copies of the texts. We are working to
help your child develop independent critical thinking skills and enjoy the discovery of meaning; having
the wrong book or a book that is already marked deprives your child of that learning opportunity.

2. We support your patronizing local independent bookstores (such as Ninth Street Bookshop in
Wilmington or Joseph Fox Bookshop in Philadelphia).

3. We have found that purchasing used copies of books from or
substantially reduces the cost of buying books. Again, please be sure you purchase clean copies.

4. We recommend that you purchase as many of your child's English texts at once as possible. This
will both save you money on shipping and ensure that your child has the appropriate text when it is
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and happy reading!
